Islands & Splashbacks !

Our island benchtop went in yesterday and bathroom & kitchen splashbacks in today, though not grouted yet.  I'm absolutely in love with the look of it all.  Can't wait to see the electrical & plumbing fit off completed now, which are happening today and tomorrow.

Our supervisor expects the house to be finished by the end of the week, which is possible as we're only really waiting on the mirrors and shower screens after the plumber & electrician are finished.  Then next week will consist of cleaning, touch ups and adjustments and Coral's inspection, ready for PCI next Thursday, then handover the following Thursday.

It's all starting to feel very real now!

Thanks M! I can't believe how fast all of this has happened - it felt like a lifetime waiting for the painter to do his thing and then boom we're almost all finished!

'Deliciously spectacular' - that's a new one, and I love it! I have to say a lot of the selections were Andrew's and some things I wasn't sure of but just kept telling myself 'if it's really that bad I can change it!' but I love how everything has come together. He's not so bad after all!

INS, the undermount sinks just make it all look 'swish' and 'simple' I think. They don't intrude into the beautiful granite and it makes my life easier by just wiping straight in to the bowl!

Thanks for the comments guys - very much appreciated to have people to share the build with now that husband is away!

Thanks Mel! It really brightens up the kitchen without making it look too out there I think. Andrew wasn't as impressed as I thought he would be with it, considering it was his choice. He thought it would have more 'wow' but it was only an iphone picture I sent him and I think once they're grouted and kitchen is tidied up it will look a lot better. Plus, like most things, it is way cooler in real life!

Very bold choices! We were too chicken to make a statement like that, haha

Haha, we just went with everything we loved rather than caring about what other people thought. May not have been the smartest choice but at least were happy everyday were in there!
